Fillings & Sealants
At David & Associates we use tooth-colored fillings to restore your teeth to a natural look and feel. They are much stronger and protected – without the mercury! We also recommend sealants to both children and adults in the fight against tooth decay and to help reduce the development of cavities.
WHAT IS A FILLING?
When you have a cavity, we remove the decayed portion of the tooth and then ‘fill’ the open part of the tooth with composite resin. Fillings can also be used to repair cracked or broken teeth and teeth that have been worn down. A filling should look and feel like it’s part of your natural tooth.
WHAT IS A DENTAL SEALANT?
Dental sealants are a simple procedure in which a tooth-colored acrylic coating is painted onto the surface of the tooth. This effectively ‘seals’ the deep grooves, acting as a barrier and protecting enamel from plaque and acids. This is a preventative measure to help prevent tooth decay.
